Which landlord do i sue?

  • My previous landlord just lost his property to foreclosure,he did not give any of the tenants our deposit back,now that we have new owners they want to charge everyone another deposit.My apartment was damaged and ordered to be repaired by the california health department.I did not cause the damage and the previous landlord refused to repair it
    My question is,do i get my deposit back? and if i do,whom am i legally suppose to get it from? The Old Landlord? or The new Ones?
    I don't think that i should leave without my deposit,especially with all the problems that i had.Nor have the new owners given a new contract.Also are they suppose to find me another place to reside,because they do have to renovate and exterminate.
    Any help would be appreciated,thanks
