Greek food in London, UK

 • Where can I find a good restaurant/takeaway place in London, UK that serves Greek pita sandwiches with feta, tomatoes, lettuce, onion and tzatziki? I'm not interested in meze with pita bread, or other types of Greek/Cypriot food, but specifically this style of sandwich, with these fillings and preferably someplace you'd recommend. Ideally the place would be accessible by Tube.

 • I spent a few months in London on an exchange program a few years ago and ran across this fantastic little Greek restaurant. When I ran across your question it popped into my mind as I remember eating that exact meal on many occasions while in the area. The place is called Andreas Charcoal Broil. It is a small place right on Richmond Row, it is quite reasonable priced (a few quid for the sandwich) and has all their food available for takeout, so it is perfect for a quick lunch stop during work. In addition to the pita sandwiches they have great souvlaki. I am pretty sure they even deliver. Their address is: 660 Richmond St. 519.439.8188 Here is the FYI London review of Andreas: http://www.fyilondon.com/cgi-bin/niveau2.cgi?s=restos&p=26742.html&a=1">http://www.fyilondon.com/cgi-bin/niveau2.cgi?s=restos&p=26742.html&a=1">http://www.fyilondon.com/cgi-bin/niveau2.cgi?s=restos&p=26742.html&a=1 I have also eaten at “London Pride and Kalamata Restaurant” which is in South London. I have family out there so I have been a few times, I cannot remember if they have exactly what you are looking for but the food is quite good and worth giving them a buzz. They are located at 407 Chester and their number is 519.432.7606. While I can specifically vouch for the exact dish you want at Andreas I am not positive about Kalamata but their prices are quite reasonable. This is a link to a relatively comprehensive list of Greek restaurants in and around London. I have not been to most of them but I figured it might be useful to you all the same. Greekfoodanddrink.com http://www.greekfoodanddrink.com/restaurants/england/london.htm">http://www.greekfoodanddrink.com/restaurants/england/london.htm">http://www.greekfoodanddrink.com/restaurants/england/london.htm I used this search to come up with some results, although the names I already had in mind (Andreas and Kalamata) I searched for separately. Search terms: london food greek OR inexpensive ://www.google.com/search?q=london+food+greek+OR+inexpensive Cheers Dylan

 • Can you provide a restaurant in London, UK? London, Ontario Canada is a bit of a trip!! The answer seems to suggest you've been there, but I'm thinking this is slightly disingenuous The only part of the answer that seems correct is the easy to find link to greek food in London. If you have simply mixed up cities (?!) and can suggest a place in London, UK, I'd love to know the spot.

 • Lordb- I appologize for my mistake in answering your question. I can offer you a few options, first I would be happy to give you a comprehensive list of Greek restaurants in London UK, including user reviews of the food. However you did ask for "preferably somplace you'd recomment" while in my haste I recomended something that was in the wrong area so you may request a refund on your answer at: https://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=refundrequest">https://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=refundrequest">https://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=refundrequest Again I appologize for my error, please let me know what you would like me to do. Cheers, Dylan

 • I apologize for the mix-up I spent time in London Ontario thus my two suggestions reflect that time. While I have spent some time in the London you are referring to I cannot in good conscience suggest a place from personal experience. However I hope the following links may be of use: Travelbritain.com offers a relatively comprehensive list of Greek food around the city including phone numbers and addresses: http://www.travelbritain.com/trip/LondonRestaurantsGreek.html">http://www.travelbritain.com/trip/LondonRestaurantsGreek.html">http://www.travelbritain.com/trip/LondonRestaurantsGreek.html This site lists these three Greek restaurants as the best around: http://www2.rhbnc.ac.uk/Music/Conferences/Janacek/eating.html">http://www2.rhbnc.ac.uk/Music/Conferences/Janacek/eating.html">http://www2.rhbnc.ac.uk/Music/Conferences/Janacek/eating.html Yialousa: Woburn Place Sofra: Charlotte Street Charles's: Marchmont Street I hope this helps, and again I apologize for the mix-up.
