I would like to remove everything unnecessary, if possible.
Is this a matter of just dropping the non-default tables, or is this much more complicated?
Anyone here interested in helping me with it?
i would think this would depend on what hacks you had installed, if there is still anything you're running on that calls the tables in question and/or if any of your hacks made changes to your core install or how it works.
but i'm kinda a vb newbie in terms of working with the database. i have a db that needs cleaning up myself, so i'll be watching to see what you learn. ;)
