Normal to have to set Volume Amplification to 20db

  • i am adding movies to xbmc in xvid format and notice all of them are low in volume, if i set volume amplification to 20db then it sounds great, now that fixes the problem but i noticed if i watch movie trailers then the sound is distorted like it's too high, anyone have this problem and any advice on what to do?


  • use a build from 2006-02-> and this behaviour has changed

    volume amp is now a setting per file. xvids are low because ripping groups doesnt bother normalizing


  • so this is okay? just setting the files individually? i also noticed that my movies don't seem to have surround even though it shows dolby 321 on my amp, do i have to have the setting for all speakers turned on?
