Major Flash Drive Problem?!?

  • Last time my flash drive was on my Windows Vista Home Premium computer. It is a USB 2.0 Mobile Disk with 512 MB. The icon is VGI. I had plugged it in while the computer was off and then when I turned the computer on it wanted to check it for consistency I cancelled the check. I didn't use it after that. Two weeks later after not have using it it won't let me open it without formatting the drive but I have IMPORTANT documents on the flash drive.
    How can I get it to open without formatting it? I tried it on my Windows XP SP1 Home Edition Computer but it said the same thing.


  • 1. Do not rely on Flash Drives for important data. Always have another copy somewhere.
    2. Do not turn of PC with Flash Drive in it.
