I have a problem with my job, you see today i don't know what happen to me, what i do in my job is serve coffees such as espresso and etc but the costumer would not speck loud enough for me to listen to their orders additionally i listen to loud music that i am growing deaf in a ear so makes it even more difficult for me. So i would get the wrong orders giving them something they didn't order. The manager worries that it will bring bad image to the cafe, also the problem is that my co-workers are getting upset because i don't get the order rights and they get upset that i tried to make espresso because the thing i need more prates and they get upset the environment is busy which i enjoy. Today was the worst day because the things was that i made so many mistake in giving the customers the wrong things which they didn't order. Plus this girl a co-worker since the start didn't like me. I don't know what to do
Turn the music down, loud music will on its' own turn customers away.
Get your hearing checked, it's probably listening to loud music that may be responsible for a reduction in your hearing. Be more responsible by checking the orders - it doesn't take a few seconds.
It seems as though you are rattling everybody in the cafe and you need to improve very quickly. Otherwise it will be did she jump or was she pushed?
Then, like us other partially deaf people, your gonna have to learn to read lips. Its a necessity I'm afraid but easy to pick up.
In the mean time, repeat the order back to the customer, "so that's one espresso for you sir, and one coke for the lady!?" and watch their faces. If its wrong they will tell you.
Good luck, it sucks having bad ears, but the lip reading is the only thing you can do and you simply HAVE to learn it.
Please go to a doctor and get your hearing tested.
