First few pictures with D40

  • Finally got my D40 this morning and heres a couple of pics. C & C welcome don't be too harsh!

    1) I tried a slow shutter speed to blur the water

    2) Trying out the macro mode with a small caterpillar, seems part of it is out of focus though

  • The first shot is awesome, I love the effect you achieved there. The caterpillar is just a bit out of focus it seems, not as sharp as it should be. I like the third, but as AmberBella said, the selective color doesn't really work in that shot. Good job on the editing though. :D


  • those are great shots. Have fun with that D40, you can really do alot with them.


  • I really like the water shot...beautiful! The caterpillar is nice too. I'm not a fan of the selective coloring used in the 3rd pic. I don't generally mind selective coloring...but I don't think it works in this shot...the leaves look like they are covered with tar. I'd love to see it in full vibrant color.


  • If the sky wasnt blown out on first one it woulda been even better. I always love water motion shots
