File not recognized as part of vBulletin

  • Hello,

When I run the diagnostics to check vb file versions, every file is returned as
"File not recognized as part of vBulletin"

I have downloaded the zip file today, and uploaded all files, overwriting anything existing.

    Re-ran, no change.

I then went and deleted the includes/md5_sums_vbulletin.php and uploaded the new one from the zip - re-ran with no change.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Please forgive my ignorance.

I use vbadvanced for teh index.php in the web root

    Domain.com/index.php

I have my files for the forum in a subdir called forums

    domain.com/forums/

So I take all of teh files in the zip file in the uploads folder and upload those contents to the domain.com/forums directory.

I set Filezilla to overwrite as a default when the same file exists, and have verified that it in fact does do so by testing with a file with known contents, so it is uploading.

Please let me know in which step listed above I am "incorrectly uploading the files to teh wrong place" as where I am sitting it doesnt seem to be an issue of uploading to the wrong place.

  • Uploading the original files should fix that unless you are uploading them to the wrong spot. Make sure you are uploading the contents of the upload folder to your forum directory, overwriting the existing files. The "images" folder is optional.

  • That error means you are not uploading them correctly or you are not overwriting the files on the server. Download a new zip file and try again.

  • I dont mean any disrespect, but I am sure I am uploading the files to the correct place, otherwise teh forums wouldn't work right?

Does the system need some php function that may be disabled ot do this, such as system, or exec, etc ?
