Wireless email service

  • What are the most recent numbers of wireless email users ?

  • Hello Nick64-ga, The first searching round almost discouraged me, because all of the sources found were different websites offering the same industry report only available for very high fee. Such report provides a wide range of figures, statistical information, trends analysis, etc.. I assumed you?re probably not willing to pay between $2,500 and $3,000 just one or a few particular numbers. However, in the end of the question you?ll have the links to the websites where that report is shown. Then, I thought it could be quite likely that the figures you are after were cited in different articles. Since there was no specification of country or region in the question, I considered any article in which reasonably recent figures with cited sources were mentioned. I?ve checked tens of them and selected a handful from which extracted the following numbers, sorted by year of article (descending): Article: Forecasting the U.S. Corporate Wireless E-mail Market (http://techupdate.zdnet.com/techupdate/stories/main/Forecasting_the_US_Corporate_Wireless_E_mail_Market_print.html ) Article source: ZD Net (http://blogs.zdnet.com/ ) Year of article: 2003 Data Source: Yankee Group, 2002 Data?s country / region: USA Data type: forecast Figures: U.S. Corporate Wireless Email Forecast; Total Projected Users and Revenues by Solution Type (subscriber and revenues figures are in millions, and correspond respectively to years: 2002; 2003; 2004; 2005; 2006; 2007): Corporate Wireless E-mail Subscribers: 1.0; 1.9; 3.4; 5.2; 6.8; 9.4 Total Revenues; $837; $1,319; $1,998; $2,523; $2,802; $3,495 Behind-the-Firewall Revenues; $635; $947; $1,358; $1,715; $1,912; $2,421 Network-Based Revenues; $21; $51; $105; $180; $251; $338 Redirector Revenues; $181; $321; $535; $628; $639; $736 ---- Article: Email could drive wireless adoption, as it did for the Internet, if it can get past some tough barriers (http://216.239.41.104/search?q=cache:XU2HU9Nkh6wJ:www.mbizcentral.com/magazine/story/new/05_wirelessemail++%22wireless+email+users%22&hl=en ) (Google cache version) Article Source: CMP Worldwide Media Networks (http://www.mbizcentral.com ) Year of article: 2002 Data Source: Yankee Group Data?s country / region: USA Data type: estimate Figures: between 3 million and 4 million U.S. wireless email users; more than 2 million of them use phones as their email access device Data Source: J.D.
